Four days after Christmas - weather's very pleasant, the Poms have retained the Ashes, son's place burglarised and he's lost a camera and a few DVDs and to cap it all The Little Worker and daughter have been laid low by a gastro bug/virus.
Daughter started to feel sick two days ago and The Little Worker [TLW] went over there, to the Dark-side, to assist and within a few hours was also smitten.
Fortunately, for me, TLW decided to spend the night at the daughter's place and thus I'm so far fine. While I don't think I'm more immuno-compromised than anyone else, whenever there's something going around I have tried to steer clear of the afflicted and the an extent it's worked well. Since the last major abdominal surgery in October 2005 I've been relatively well - gangrenous toes, dodgy urethra and dehydration episodes excepted. In fact apart from those events caused by the previously mentioned causes I've been as well as I've ever been. The odd sniffle but little else.
Later.. now 30 December and I ended up taking daughter to the local medical services late last night. Worth the long wait. Assured by GP saying every symptom was typical of a gastro. The IM injection of Hyoscine butylbromide [Buscopan] was helpful although the daughter complained of a sore bum after ;)
By the time I got home at about 01:30 The Little Worker was in bed but got up to check the state of play and went to bed happier.
Canberra medical services once again proved to be excellent especially the wonderful nurses at the Walk in Centre
